SETTING Located adjacent to 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa), this site is the most developed on the Kootenai National Forest. Set in a natural forest atmosphere, it is only a short distance to the swimming beach and boat ramp.
DIRECTIONS The entrance to the complex is directly across from the town of Rexford, approximately 5 miles south of the junction of US Highways 93 and 37.

Rexford Bench Boat Ramp and Launch

SETTING This boat ramp is located on 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa), approximately 7 miles south of the US/Canada border.
DIRECTIONS From Rexford, .3 mile east within the Rexford Bench Complex.
ACCESS Paved access road, paved parking for towing units and trailers.

Rexford Bench Swimming

SETTING This swimming area is located within the Rexford Bench Complex, adjacent to 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa). The beach offers a nice sandy beach with a buoyed swimming area (no lifeguard).
DIRECTIONS From Rexford, .3 east within the Rexford Bench Complex.

SPECIAL ATTRACTIONS This swimming area offers spectacular views of Lake Koocanusa and the surrounding area, maintained turf, picnic tables, garbage containers, electrical outlets at the toilet building, and a bridge connecting the beach to the boating site. Campground Hosts and a public telephone are located within the complex; there are no showers.
 

 

 

 

 

Kamloops Terrace

ELEVATION 2500 feet
SETTING Kamloops Terrace is an overflow parking area for the Rexford Bench Complex, located adjacent to 90-mile-long Lake Koocanusa (KOOtenai/CANada/USA--coo/can/oosa). It is paved throughout, with islands supporting native plant life. It has no designated parking spaces, therefore accommodates larger-sized recreational vehicles.
DIRECTIONS From Eureka, travel south on US Highway 37 approximately 5 miles to the town of Rexford. The entrance to the complex is located directly across from Rexford, roughly 7 air miles south of the US/Canada border.
